Sometimes the best way to find your wedding mood is through your favorite movies. Throw in your absolute favorite movie- try to find one that has a wedding or party in it! I love the inspiration behind “500 Days of Summer.” The young love shines in this movie with whimsical touches. This video of an inspiration photoshoot is enough to get you started. From this 3 minute video I heard a love song that could be perfect for a first dance. Saw a rooftop garden that would be beautiful for a rehearsal dinner. Grew hungry looking at a stack of pancakes- perfect for a post-wedding Sunday brunch. Did you catch that place setting with a caligraphy menu?

A little further in we catch the couple getting ready. How beautiful would a black and white photo of the bride surrounded by her beauty team with sunlight pouring in from huge draped windows be? That dress and his cardigan just surmise young love. Watch this video over and over again to catch the smallest of details- you know I did!

One of the most romantic and intimate wedding reception ideas is the tent. It can be as formal or casual as you choose. It creates a welcoming space and encourages your guests to mingle with each other. The tent is also a beautiful backdrop for your decor. To create a casual tent reception, keep the sides open to the outside and use simple tables and decorations. Fun pops of color and DIY projects will create a casual, care-free vibe. Some brides are looking for a more formal reception, the tent is absolutely perfect for this. In the condensed space, your glamourous decor will explode! Use drapes to keep everyone, and everything inside of the tent. Chandeliers and large floral centerpieces will feel more exaggerated and more expensive underneath the tent. Create a starry night sky with little lights stranded at the top of your tent. All of these photos are breathtaking!The tent reception can also help you create the most unique venue and decorations. D.C. Wedding from Style Me Pretty

This Washington D.C. wedding from Style Me Pretty is the perfect blend of traditional and contemporary. The bride wore a classic A-line lace dress with detailed cap sleeves. She accessorized with Jimmy Choo shoes and a simple silver necklace. Both the ceremony and the reception were at the W Hotel Washington DC. The decor by Uplyte Event Design is dominated by the pink lighting and Ghost Chairs- such an aytpical and unique choice! The photography by Gabe Aceves is phenomenal and has an amazing attention to detail. My favorite is the black and white shot of the dress against a window. The W Hotel in D.C. is remodeled from an old D.C. landmark hotel, only blocks away from the White House. The bride found most of her inspiration in carnation balls- which became the main floral design from Uplyte Event Design. The dinner tables were flanked with black chargers, silver table ware, acrylic boxes and carnation balls. The room had soft pink lighting that bounced off the ghost chairs. Breathtaking!

Pink, Gold & Orange Weding

Pink, Gold & Orange has become a favorite color theme in the wedding world! This color palette follows the fashion trend of color-blocking and can be easily achieved at your wedding. The citrus colors are toned down by the strong gold and everything looks glamorous. My inspiration comes from a DIY American Apparel coral clutch that was dipped in gold paint.

Wedding invitations can set the theme for your wedding. An e-mail RSVP lets your guests know that the wedding is casual, while a ten piece wedding invitation and mail-RSVP sets a dignified tone. Continue the pink, gold, and orange theme at your bridal showers and bachelorette parties. Pink cookies with your new monogram are the perfect snack! If your reception venue is simple, then keep your bridesmaids in your citrus colors! Pair this orange and pink dress with gold heels.

Pink, Gold, and Orange can be continued in flowers and table decorations. If the citrus is too bold for you, use greenery and pale pink flowers along with diamond brooches to tone the color theme down. Gold chargers are a necessary table accessory and can be used with white china and pink linens. Pink and orange flowers complete the look. The citrus color theme is vibrant against a white backdrop. The Ashton Hotel- Fort Worth Weddings

The Ashton Hotel is the only boutique hotel in Fort Worth. It has become the place to see, and be seen in Cowtown. Located in downtown Fort Worth, the Ashton Hotel is mere minutes from Bass Hall, Sundance Square, the Fort Worth Stockyards and the Cultural District. The Ashton Hotel’s wedding and event staff will help you plain every detail from bridal showers to the reception.

Dena and Ryan were married at the Ashton Hotel in February of 2011. Their wedding was photographed by Hiram Trillo Photography. Dena and Ryan took advantage of the full service wedding staff and held both their ceremony and reception at the hotel. Their wedding colors of gold and navy blue were complemented by feathery details. The whole affair had a 1920s theme. Gorgeous!

The Ashton Hotel also caters to intimate weddings. Their wine cellar is the perfect dinner reception for the small family-only wedding. It is also a great choice for rehearsal dinners, bachelor/bachelorette parties and wedding showers. The wine cellar holds up to 22 guests and is decorated with a gold-tin ceiling, natural stone walls, and soft lighting.
