My first thought when I saw Elle Macpherson step onto the red carpet at the Golden Globes was how effortlessly ethereal she looked. Would that dress not make the most beautiful bridal gown? And throw on some big gold earrings, and colorful bangles for a fun reception look. Her hair was beautiful, and a light veil would look gorgeous pinned into the crown. Wearing a gorgeous Zac Posen gown and jewelry by Lorraine Schwartz, the supermodel looked better than anyone else on the red carpet!

The amazing thing about Marilyn was her timeless beauty transformed her into a classic icon. To be a “Marilyn Bride” you need to wear your hair in pin curls, focus on the winged eyeliner, and use red lipstick to create the ultimate beauty statement. A slender gown with excellent detail is the way to go. Carry the look with a full red, or full white bouquet. Use the same colors in your reception- find a black and white look with pops of sparkle and mirrors, and maybe a little red if you are feeling bold!

Last week I got to meet with the lovely Megan of De Ma Fille in Fort Worth. Her precious shop on Park Hill Drive is filled with beautiful gowns that are perfect down to every last detail. It got me thinking about those “wow gowns” that you don’t see very much of, but that always take your breath away. I described my perfect wedding gown to Megan and she said she might have my dress right in store! Now I just need to make a trip back to Megan & De Ma Fille and try it on. Jaclyn’s bridal shoot is far from normal. What starts out as a beautiful bride in a dramatic doorway ends with a football field and an A&M jersey. You can’t help but love her as she poses with her dogs. Blue ribbons tied around their necks and perched on gorgeous pink chairs. Love it! The pictures are bright, airy, and captivating. I jst love that Jaclyn took a traditional event and turned it into exactly what she wanted. Sounds like my kind of bride! These amazing photos come from Jeff Svadlenak of JWS Images.
